Spring Concert at Trinity Cathedral

  • Trinity Episcopal Cathedral 100 West Roosevelt Street Phoenix, AZ, 85003 United States (map)

Our annual spring concert at Trinity Cathedral features Karen, Christopher, Melita, and Erin. All four kick off the program with the Quartet in E-flat Major by 19th-century Finnish composer and clarinetist Bernhard Crusell, a rare late-Classical exploration of clarinet chamber music. This is followed by German- Dutch composer Julius Röntgen’s String Trio No. 2 “Dvorak”, a lilting and indulgent fantasia. In the second part of the program, the soulful colors of clarinet and viola entwine in Rebecca Clarke’s Prelude, Allegro and Pastorale, composed in the 1940s, and Jewish-Austrian Hans Gál’s Serenade for Clarinet, Violin and Cello combines Romantic lyricism with Modern chromaticism.
